The Lord's Prayer

Jesus sets a simple pattern of prayer regarding how we should approach Heavenly Father and what we should ask of him.

E tō mātou matua i te rangi
Kia tapu tōu ingoa
Kia tae mai tōu rangartiratanga
Kia meatia tāu e pai ai
Ki runga i te whenua
Kia rite anō ki tō te rangi
Hōmai ki a mātou āianei
He taro mā mātou mō tēnei rā
Murua ā mātou hara
Me mātou hoki e muru nei i ō te hunga
E hara ana ki a mātou
Aua hoki mātou e kawea kia whakawaia
Engari whakaorangia mātou i te kino
Nōu hoki te rangatiratanga
Te kaha me te korōria āke āke āke. Āmine

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
